#NowPlaying

Kanye's newest album, 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy', is on bang - every song on the album is amazing. 'All Of The Lights' featuring Rihanna is what really gets me goin'. Everything about this song is sex, and I cannot stop listening to it, so I had to share it! Please, if you have not heard it, indulge.

Disney Star is 'Lovesick'

While her Hannah Montana Forever co-star is all over the internet hallucinating over salvia, Emily Osment is busy blowing up the airwaves.

Osment’s song, “Lovesick” is steadily becoming popular on the radio and the video for the catchy pop tune is set to release very soon.

Osment, sister of The Sixth Sense star Haley Joel Osment, is best known for her role on Hannah Montana/Hannah Montana Forever. As the show draws to a close, the young Disney star is preparing to make a name for herself in the music world.

Her album Fight or Flight was released October 5 and internationally October 16. It is reminiscent of Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan (her first album and pre-drug addiction) a little bit of Miley Cyrus and even a strange mix of Carey Underwood.

Listen below to Osment’s radio single, “Lovesick”.

Rodarte for Black Swan

The hottest news in fashion right now is the film Black Swan, so it would be silly of us not to give a little shout-out. Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the sisters who founded Rodarte, have designed some stellar costumes for the film which are catching global attention. While we may be a little biased towards the costume because they happen to resemble something a certain Lady Gaga would wear, we have to say that the black little ballet piece is simply stunning. The film is being hailed by critics around the world, and the Mulleavy sisters have forever earned their place in the fashion world now.

Grammy Shmammy

Well music lovers, its Grammy season once again. The award show, which is set to take place on February 13th 2011, announced the nominees last night in an hour long special. The nominations concert featured performances by Katy Perry (BARF!), Justin Bieber (DOUBLE BARF), Train (TRIPLE BARF), B.o.B. (We approve), and Bruno Mars (We REALLY approve).

However, the night wasn't about the performances, it was about the nominations. There were some huge surprises, like Cee Lo Green being nominated for anything, let alone Record of The Year and and Song of The Year, and some nominations we saw coming from a mile away, like Eminem being nominated for Album of The Year!

It came as no surprise that the Biebster was nominated for Best New Artist, and its going to come as no surprise when he takes the trophy home. Is it just us, or are the Grammys supposed to be a prestigious award show? The fact that that nine year old little boy and Katy Perry are nominated at all kind of take away the "honor factor", don't you think?

At any rate, You know we are Goo Goo for Gaga, and the nominations were big for her as she is the most nominated female artist this year! Her specific nominates are Album Of The Year (The Fame Monster), Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals (Telephone), Best Dance Recording (Dance In The Dark), Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (Bad Romance), Best Pop Vocal Album (The Fame Monster), Best Short Form Music Video (Bad Romance). As little monster, we have to say, we are extremely proud of the pop goddess for her accomplishments - they are well deserved! As for the other nominees, we are SO excited for Eminem, Jay Z, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, B.o.B., Bruno Mars, Beyonce, the Glee Cast, Paramore, and La Roux! Cannot wait to see what happens! (Bieber, if you win, you better RUN!)

I'm Hot

Everyone's favorite B*tch from Stanton Island is back - "...and there's nothing you can do about it!"

Angelina Pivarnick of MTV's hit show, Jersey Shore, is making a comeback after her SECOND time leaving the show early. She's now apparently a rap star with a little help from Andy Stein "The DreaMaker". A few weeks ago a snippet from her song, "I'm Hot" leaked and now the full version is streaming the internet. Listen below as Angelina proclaims she's so hot like an ice cream cone with a cherry on top!

This song is awful, terribly autotuned and poorly produced; but at the same time so irresistible! How can you not fist pump to this? #carbanger! Tell us what you think!

Designer sneak peak

As fashion lovers, we are in full support and embrace creative, local talent. Good friend of JuMo and clothing designer, Derrick Greene is in preparation to launch his first-ever couture line called HueGreene.

As Hue Greene already has creative and meaningful t-shirt designs available, Greene, as the CEO and head creative, is working diligently on his designs to launch the couture line in spring of 2011.

We have for you a sneak peak at two of his sketches. Trust us! After having the opportunity to take a tour of the HueGreene sketch book, this collection will be a hot commodity once released!

Greene’s sketches and descriptions of the garments:

This is the first design ever made for the clothing line! It is a light weight jacket with ultra suede fabric on the outside and the inside opens to reveal a red lining. The material of the jacket is a caramel brown, ultra suede fabric, while the collar is a polyester cotton blend. To create a vintage feel, I chose to add elbow patches. These too, are the caramel brown color. The jacket also has very low front pockets along with flaps to close the pocket.

The second design is a lace up dress that ties at the right side. The fabric is a stretchy silk with boning in the bust area for a stiff, form-fitting look from the breast up. This design was inspired by blowing bubbles, and seeing a few of them go in various directions. I was also inspired by watching them float together and combining to make an even bigger bubble. The holes for the string will be golden/brass. The fabric of the dress is a lightweight silk/Spandex material.

Each design has a different vibe and unique structure to it based upon what I saw throughout my day’s work.

For more from HueGreene, check out the blog. This site gives up-to-date details on the progression of the line as well as details and coverage of fashion events pertaining to the line.

New Juicy Couture Collection

Erin Fetherston, has joined the ever-so-girly brand, Juicy Couture as a designer. Her whimsical collection is now available for purchase!

Juicy Couture is best known for its velor track suits and Day Dreamer handbags, but with Fetherston on the design team, Juicy Couture has reached a new level. Playful sophistication is what I would call the new designs. Equipped with sequins and studs, draping and sexy cuts, any girl can find something she likes in this collection. Perfect party dresses and velvet clutches to match, go perfectly with the antique looking jewelry.

See the full collection at the Juicy Couture website.

Kim K Update

Now that this song is surfacing the internet, Kim Kardashian has taken to twitter to set the record straight.

But for the record, I remain in strong belief that we will hear something REAL from Kim soon...and IDK how I feel about that.

Auto tune saves lives

Amechure porn star, turned reality TV star, turned jersey chaser, Kim Kardashian, has decided that singer needed to be added to the list. According to Global Grind, she will be working alongside The Dream to complete her first-ever album which is set to release some time next year.

Her supposed first single entitled "Shake" was leaked today. It is a catchy dance tune that has car banging potential but judging from the production sound, auto tune will definitely play a major roll in Ms. K's singing career.

What do you think of "Shake"?

Oh, baby..?

Is there such thing as a childhood anymore? It seems as though careers are starting at awfully young ages now-a-days. Of course there will always be child stars, but models and clothing designers? There is certainly something to be said about that.

High-end designers are in the process of releasing children’s lines at full swing and their choices of models are quite astonishing. These child models are made up and paraded around as if they are full on adults. Now to make matters worse, celebs are soliciting their children as the faces of clothing lines.

Jennifer Lopez and her 2 and a half year old twins recently wrapped up a photo shoot for a Gucci campaign. Take a look at the pics below, courtesy of Huffingtion Post.

These are cute and playful shots and J.Lo is looking quite stunning but her son Max favors The Situation. Maybe I’m wrong, but someone should not look like a grown man at the age of two.

Gucci is, however, donating precedes to UNICEF's Schools for Africa and $50,000 to Lopez's Maribel Initiative. The dancer, turned singer, turned actress told UsMagazine.com, "Now there are two Gucci spokesbabies for a beautiful cause!" She added, "Emme picks out her own outfits and likes to sleep in her princess dress. It's hard to get Max dressed. He prefers to run around the house with no clothes on."

How do you all feel about youth having careers in modeling?

Doll for a Day

As iconic as Barbie is, how awesome would it be to have a Barbie that looks just like you? Well, now you can. That is if you are between the ages of 3 and 12, of course.

If you know me, you know I love my Nickelodeon! While watching the network I saw a commercial advertising the chance of one lucky girl being able to recreate her look Barbie style! The winner of the Doll for a Day contest will get the chance to fly to Barbie headquarters, meet Barbie herself (not sure how that part is possible) and get a Barbie that looks just like her – hair, clothes and all!

How fierce does that sound? Being the big kid that I am tried to enter the contest but was saddened to find out that there is an age limit. So, if you have a little one who would like to be a Doll for a Day, then log on and attempt to win so that I can live vicariously through her!

Although this contest seems totally fab, I would like to poses a few questions. Can you be a boy and win? Can you be of another persuasion than Caucasian and win? Can you be a chuncker and still win? Barbie is of course a girl, but little boys play with Bardies too. Furthermore, we have seen a growth in the ethnicities of Barbie over the years, but she still remains the classic “white” Barbie in the eyes of many. Barbie is also known for her sexy, skinny figure. There is no such thing as a plus size Barbie, so will a heftier youngster even be considered to win the contest? These are just a few things to ponder. And for the record, I think it should be open for adults too!

What do you guys think of the Doll for a Day contest?

#nowplaying

Christina Perri is the new girl on the scene, but man has she got a voice on her. Not much needs to be said for the song, because the words speak for themselves. She is an amazing talent, both with singing and songwriting. This video is very artsty-fartsy, and we here at JuMo love things like that! Hit play and get ready to watch some pretty amazing contemporary dancing.

Not Ready To Make Nice

Music, fashion, art direction, and an amazing story. Do you need any more to make an amazing music video? While country may not be my most favorite genre of music, The Dixie Chicks are one of my favorite bands of all time, and Not Ready To Make Nice is one of the best songs to come out of the genre. In case you don't know the story, Natalie Maines, the lead singer, was one of the first celebrities ever to openly say a negative comment against the President of The United States, who at the time was George W. Bush. Once the comment was maid, the group saw a large backlash from conservatives, and even received death threats.

Besides Natalie Maines being one of the absolute best singers of our modern generation, and the song being an anti-Bush song, you have to love the song because it was so well written, and the music video has some of the best art direction seen in the last ten years. The video was directed by the famous British director Sophie Muller. The song made number 77 on the list of Rolling Stones 100 Best Songs Of The Decade, and won three Grammy awards for record of the year, song of the year, and best country performance by a duo or group.

The Dixie Chicks said in interviews that writing the song was a way to free themselves, and to help them move on from a situation that got blown way our of proportion. As you have come to see with this blog, we want to share any music that is about setting yourself free, so please, even if you are not a fan of country music, watch the video below and let us know what you think.

Happy 100

Well readers, this is our 100th post! To be honest, we were not sure how long this blog was going to last. It was meant to just be a little thing we did for fun, and if we didn't have a lot of readers, then it was no big deal. Well, you all have really kept us going for the past 100 posts. We appreciate the feedback we get from you, and the interest you take in what we have to say! I feel like we've all been through so much together, even though we don't know most of you. We sincerely hope you continue to check out what we have to say, and that you pass the blog along to other people, so we can keep this going for a few hundred more posts! Thank you all so much!

Along with a huge thank you to all - our friends and loyal readers, we figured it would be appropriate to give Gaga a shoutout too! As you may have noticed, we are die hard Lady Gaga fans and several of our previous posts have been about her; so why not make the 100th post about her too?

We have compiled a list of the top 10 reasons why we love our Mother Monster, Lady Gaga.

  1. Lady Gaga is a Great performer – As the music industry is currently going through a stage of autotune and backup dancers as a saving grace, Gaga doesn’t need any of that. Though her dancers are fierce, she is perfectly capable of getting on stage and belting it out without digital help or dancers. She is well-trained to sing live and give it her all while dancing. She puts on over-the-top shows but does it modestly.
  2. Lady Gaga is an activist – We all saw her arrive to the MTV Music awards with ex-military men and women on her surprisingly tan arm. She graced the stage in her McQueen original to educate audiences about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. She continues to fight for the rights of the LBGT community and even the lives of homeless teens. And let’s not forget she donated generous proceeds to victims of the earthquake in Haiti. We’re sure there is more generosity on the way.
  3. Lady Gaga is inspirational – From song lyrics, to album titles, to answers to interview questions, she encourages fans and others to love themselves no matter what! We were “Born this way!”
  4. Lady Gaga is a business woman – She is only 24 years old and she has created a fashion empire, she is Polaroid’s creative director and she is the brains behind the visions of her concert tours, appearances and just about everything else she does. Gaga has a creative team, but lots of it stems from her tiny little, brilliant business-minded head. She also recently signed a perfume deal and talks of a sunglasses line could be in the future.
  5. Lady Gaga gives back – Not only does she give to charity but she is also generous in the way of helping dear friends. Gaga has brought along with her Semi Precious Weapons for her Monster Ball Tours. Back in the day, Lady Gaga opened for them. But now that gaga has made it to the big leagues, she is sharing the wealth of the rock star life by bringing them along. Dj Lady Starlight is getting in on the action too! She is a hip NY Dj who helped Gaga create her image and is now sippin on Jack Daniels in front of millions of screaming little monsters and loving it!
  6. Lady Gaga is a fashion icon – Seriously, this one is self explanatory. From Kermit costumes to meat dresses, there is nothing Gaga won’t wear and not make it look out of this world fabulous!
  7. Lady Gaga flipped the script on music – In 2008 Gaga burst onto the scene with pop, dance hits like ‘Just Dance’ and ‘Pokerface’. A few years later, she is still at it with tracks like ‘Bad Romance’ and ‘Telephone’ but with deeper songs like ‘Alejandro’ and ‘Speechless’ she makes audiences think. Not to mention, she is making fellow artists in the industry step their game up. Remember when X-tina tried to make a comeback as the off brand Gaga and failed? Well, yea..point proven.
  8. Lady Gaga knows how to party – As Michigan natives, we have both seen Gaga perform in Detroit and both times she has mentioned how Detroit Monsters like to party with a Bud Light in one hand and a cig in the other. This is very much true, btw. Other than that, Gaga has been known to buy up the bar for fans and drunkenly scream at baseball games. We love to party and we love that Lady Gaga loves to party!
  9. Lady Gaga is modest – Deep down she knows she’s the shit but doesn’t go parading around with a big head like some of these other divas. She sheds tears of joy whenever she wins an award or is congratulated for her efforts and greatness. She has power, but uses it for good rather than evil. Gaga is a woman of character
  10. Lady Gaga loves us – First of all, there are not many artists who have a crazy big following like she does. Thus, it was only fitting that we have a name – Little Monsters. She signs autographs, she parties with us, she even brings us baskets of muffins when we wait in line for hours to see her. Oh! And she follows a lot of us back on twitter. Gaga lives for her fans. As she inspires us, we inspire her to get better every day.

Thanks again! We love our readers and we love you, Lady Gaga!

Love, Justin and Jessica

Nicki Minaj falls short

Remember when Lil Jon was on every track? It seems to me that Nicki Minaj is the new and improved, female version of Lil Jon. Although Nicki personally frightens me, I give her props. She is a female artist doing her thing as she has brought creativity to numerous tracks. But this time, I think the Young Money lady has fallen short.

Will Smith is steadily creating offspring to take over the world. Jaden Smith was a badass in Karate Kid and now little sister, Willow Smith is whipping her hair everywhere. But what does any of this have to do with Nicki Minaj, you ask? Well Nicki has jumped on Willow's banger "Whip My Hair" and served as a verse opener for the remix. For only 9 years old, Willow goes hard! Although autotune has aided some of that fierceness, you can still tell the little tyke has some power on her voice. However, on this remix, I feel like Nicki has brought it down. The lyrics of course were clean as a result of Willow being a kid star but it was not Nicki's usual rap and just it seemed a bit dry. I do have to high five her for the Juicy Couture, Boomkat and Michael Jackson references! I still enjoy the song but think Nicki may have brought it down a bit and will most likely nix the remix from my playlist. Listen below. What do you guys think?

It gets better

The last thing posted to this blog was a touching and powerful piece by my blogging partner, Justin Spade, about his sexuality. Sadly, just days after his post in hopes of reaching others about this mistreatment of gays, stories of teenage suicide swarmed the news and internet as a result of school-aged gays being bullied because of their sexual preferences. Being gay, as Justin said, is not a bad thing. It is part of life and EVERYONE should have the right to be attracted to and love who they want to; all without being judged and taunted for it. It saddens me that such tragic things currently are happening to the gay community, but thank God for the individuals who are fed up and want to take a stand!

As Lady Gaga says, “I was born this way!” Gay, straight, transgender, bisexual, green, blue – whatever the case may be, God created us all in a certain way and everyone should love themselves no matter what. People will always whisper, maybe even push and shove, but remembering to stay true to yourself is the most important thing you can do.

As a result of these recent heartbreaking events, no-shame-in-his-game, celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton is taking action against bullying towards gay youth with his #itgetsbetter campaign. He has blogged, posted youtube videos and even reached out to fellow celebs to help in these beautiful efforts. Perez and other stars like Tim Gunn, the cast of Fox’s Glee and even MTV’s first TJ, Gabi Gregg, has agreed to all make videos encouraging gay youth to talk to someone regarding their concerns about being young and gay. Many kids and teens have looked to suicide as the answer to solve their problems of torment, but Perez and friends what them all to know that suicide is never the way out.

As a fan of Perez Hilton, Lady Gaga, Tim Gunn and many other LGBT celebs, I fully support their efforts. I have several close gay friends to whom I love dearly and the thought of others like me having their gay friends bullied and committing suicide honestly hurts!

For more information about this campaign, follow Perez Hilton on twitter or visit his website.

Profile of a Gay Man

Homosexual, queer, gay, faggot, sodomite, GLBT. If those don’t work you could try “that way”, “a bit funny”, “on the bus”, “batting for the other team”. Any way you want to put it, it describes me. I am a simple, young man, who attends college, and is from a small town in Michigan; I also happen to identify myself as being gay. Along with all of these terms listed previously, I still identify myself as a human. Today, I feel less like a human, and more like a freak or some creature that doesn’t belong in the United States. Oh, you may say cut the dramatics, but do you know the facts? Do you understand what it is to walk in my shoes? Please, read on and maybe you will be able to grasp what I’m saying.

Are you allowed to openly express who you are? I’m not. In the United States, if I want to join the military and they find out I’m gay, I’m kicked out. I’m discharged and banned from fighting for the freedom of my country because of who I am. The reason, of course, is because I could disrupt the functionality and cohesion of my fellow soldiers, because I will try to have homosexual intercourse with all of the heterosexual men I am around. I would like to thank the federal government for being mature and not using that stigma in making their decision on repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.

Are you allowed to openly express who you are? I’m not. In the state of Michigan, and almost every other state excluding ten, I can be legally fired from my job at any moment because I am gay. In the state of Michigan, and almost every other state excluding about twenty, I can legally be discriminated against. In most states, crimes performed against me because I am homosexual are not considered a hate crime, and therefore the criminal would face a lesser charge. In the United States of America there is not one single federal law that protects me as a homosexual from discrimination, or gives me opportunity and equal rights that I would have if I was heterosexual.

Are you allowed to openly express who you are? I’m not. If I were to join the group Boy Scouts of America I would hastily be kicked out in fear I could corrupt the functionality of the organization. If I were to attempt to adopt a child I would be denied by almost every adoption agency in the country, and some States would even go as far to say it is illegal for me to be a father, because to the government, a child having no parent is better than having two dads. If I were to want to marry my partner I would have five out of fifty states to choose from to do so, and I would have to stay in that state in order for it to be considered legal.

Can you imagine? All of this is because of who I love, who I give myself to, and who I fall asleep next to at night. When asking for equal rights, its as if we are asking for permission to murder someone. We are not asking for permission to fornicate in public, or to rub our lifestyles in the faces of others. We are asking for the same rights heterosexuals are given because we are all humans. The federal government, who’s officials are always speaking of the freedoms we have and so on, are the ignorant culprits in this calamity of a situation.

You know, the other day I was at work, working behind the customer service desk at the grocery store I work at, and I was giving change to a young man, who I guessed was probably around the age of 26. I reached out, change in my hand, preparing to drop it in his hand, when he pulled his hand back to let the change hit the counter. I looked at him, and he glared at me as he picked the change up off the counter, said “faggot”, and walked away. Ignorance, my friends, is something myself and every other homosexual, queer, faggot, gay, GLBT community member faces on a daily basis. When is it going to end? Who is going to bring change? When will you look at me and not think “he’s a fag”, but rather think “he’s a human”.

- Justin

New York Fashion Week, Spring/Summer 2011 Collections

As New York Fashion Week has ended, I want to take time to reflect on some of the amazing collections shown this year.

Although I was not in attendance for any of the Spring and Summer 2011 shows, I followed tweets, blogs, and websites, looked at lots and lots of photos and even viewed a few live stream shows to keep up with the fabulousness that is NYFW!

Orange and grey dominated the runways as these two colors were on the color palate of more than half of the collections shown. Silky fabrics along with lace and several khaki influences were also seen all across the board. Blues, purples and floral patterns also made numerous appearances.

Pre-Fashion Week, I was a Cynthia Rowley, Christian Siriano and Betsey Johnson fan but after seeing their masterpieces hit the runway, I fell in love even more. And not to much surprise, I was captivated by a few collections I had not thought about looking at previously. And let me tell you, I think I just became obsessed with Jason Wu, Jeremy Scott, Barbra TFrank and even Posh Spice herself, Victoria Beckham.

Collections:

Cynthia Rowley – This collection caters to the modern working woman who knows how to have fun. Both bright and pastel colors, flirty peek-a-boo circles and hints of see-through garments graced the runway. Sexy, strappy wedges and tribal-inspired necklaces also accompanied these fun pieces.

Christian Siriano – Siriano is known for “Tranny Messes” but this collection was anything but. The light and delicate dresses presented at the beginning of the line perfectly flowed into the stunning patterned dresses toward the middle all the way to the red carpet looks at the end. From flowy to fitted, this collection stayed true to femininity.

Betsey Johnson – If anyone knows of Betsey, they know she is all about fun! Yet again, Betsey stayed true to her brand theme with lots of neon colors, fierce, fun prints, sailor hats and my personal favorite, rain boots and rompers.

Jason Wu – Jason Wu became ultra famous when he designed Michelle Obama’s stunning Inaugural gown; and by the looks of his S/S 2011 collection, I wouldn’t be surprised if Michelle was hitting the young designer up for many, many more. From androgynous to pure feminine, this collection was full of funky floral patterns paired with striped shirts and girly blazers. Fresh summer dresses and pieces with hints of mod also played a key roll in this collection.

Jeremy Scott – Jeremy Scott has worked with big names like Lady Gaga and Kanye West, just to name a few. His extravagant, New York-inspired collection captured a funky, edgy look all while maintaining a playful and fun depiction of the Big Apple. Jeremy sent his version of meat dresses, shopping bags and ticket stubs down the runway. It was both esthetically pleasing as well as entertaining.

Barbra TFrank – While Jason Wu’s collection had hints of mod, Barbra’s S/S 2011 line was all about it! Although many of her previous collections have been vintage-inspired, this one just screams Jackie O; and it was fab! Pretty pastels, A-lines and sexy cuts headed down the runway for this collection. And let’s not forget about the fab head scarves all of the models wore.

Victoria Beckham - From draping to skin tight dresses, Victoria Beckham knows how to make a woman’s body look flattering. Pure sexiness hit the runway all while staying classy with the help of belted dresses as well as tea cup shaped cocktail dresses, along with a little bit of glitter.

There were plenty more designers who showed their collections at NYFW, but I just wanted to share with you all my personal favorites.

#VMA

Anybody who is anybody tuned into the VMAs last night. What would Kanye do? What would Lady Gaga wear? Would Justin Bieber steal the show? Nobody knew how it would all play out this year, especially after the fiasco of last years show! I would say in some ways the show was amazingly captivating, but in others it was a let down.

To nobodies surprise, Lady Gaga stole the show. Not only did she look stunning in every single one of her outfits, including the meat dress (which was NOT made of real meat, so PETA can calm down). Every award she won, she deserved. And how about when she announced the title of the next album? "Born This Way" is a testament, not only to the gay community, but to everyone in the world. Oh, and lets not forget her 30 second performance. May I just say that even though she sang only 2 lines from a song, she stole the show.

The rest of the night was lackluster. Chelsea Handler was not all that funny, Taylor and Kanye both bombed their performances, Justin Bieber and Usher lip synced, and there was not really any drama. Oh well, what can you do? Our queen won 8 awards, and I suppose that is all that matters!

We do want to give props to the other winners of the night (minus Bieber, he can suck it) Eminem and 30 Seconds To Mars, because they really did deserve their winnings too! Nobody was surprised J.B. won best new artist, but I think it should have gone to Jason Derulo.

All in all Im going to give the award show 3 out of 5 stars, and the only reason it gets that rating is because Gaga saved the show! What are your thoughts? Tweet to us at https://twitter.com/JuMo1! Peace, love, and remember, we were born this way!

Halloween is around the corner...

You didn’t realize it until you walked into your neighborhood Target the other day and saw a section filled with fun-sized candy and a ridiculous amount of orange and black merchandise. Like it or not, Halloween is just around the corner!
Pop culture is at its finest, and this year we are bringing you a list of Halloween costume ideas that pay homage to the rise in celebrity drama, reality TV and great music.

Halloween Costumes and what you’ll need:

Lady Gaga – Glitter, sequence, blond wig or yellow wig, soda cans to roll in your hair. The choices are endless. Visit her website to pre-order Lady Gaga costume pieces.

Antoine Dodson – Red bandanna for your head, black beater and a “hood diva” attitude.
Snooki – This may require a few trips to the tanning salon, but if you are into the protection of your skin, stick with lots of hair spray, a bump it and a white plastic clip.
Avatar – As the biggest award-winning movie of the year, you can be a hit with tons of blue paint!
Michael Jackson – Red leather jacket, white socks, black loafers and a glitter glove.
A pregnant woman – In the spirit of knocked up celebs and the popular MTV show, Teen Mom and just young pregnancies in general, stuff your shirt as if you have a bun in the oven.
Katy Perry and Russell Brand – Celebrity couple! For pulling off Katy Perry you will need a blue wig, a sequin dress and a can of whipped cream in attempt to mock her ‘California Gurls’ video. To pull off Russell Brand, you will need extra tight jeans, a hairy chest and a vest. A brunette wig with bangs and curls will top it off.

Kanye West – Trendy attire and a microphone. (While at a party, frequently interrupt conversations)
Paris Hilton – Blond wig, extensions, a NON designer purse and some white powder.
Lindsay Lohan – Hand cuffs, extensions or a wig and an orange jumpsuit. Go the extra mile and wrap something thick and black around your ankle as if it is a tether.
Justin Bieber – Bangs peeping out under a fitted had, skater boy shoes and a button up shirt. To make it really funny, get an entourage of girls to follow you around the club or party you attend.
Real Housewife – Danielle from RHNJ will require a brunette wig or extensions. Carry around a video tape as if it’s her awful sex tape. And don't forget your extremely arched eyebrows!

Drake – Bushy eyebrows!
Nicki Manaj – Stuffed pants to create the illusion of her massive ass, a pink wig and a necklace that says Barbie.
Taylor Swift – Blond wig and a guitar. If you really want to get ballsy, accompany a friend to an outing who is dressed as Kanye West.

Good Luck, have fun and make it sassy! Happy Halloween!

PUT YOUR PAWS UP, DETROIT

The lights go out, and the screams soar high into the rafters in the Palace Of Auburn Hills, located just outside of Detroit, Michigan. Myself (Justin), Jessica, and fellow Little Monster Kyle are in the second row, staring at the large, white screen that now covers the stage. Low, rumbling music begins as the images are projected on the screen. "Im a free bitch, baby" is all you can hear Mother Monster saying as her images move and transform across the screen. The background music is a mash up of her stellar song, "Dance In The Dark", and the 80's hit "Finally" by Ce Ce Peniston. After this amazing light, sound, and video spectacle goes on for about 3 minutes, the curtain lifts, and there she is standing in front of a purple light. If possible, the audience of 25,000 screams even louder than before.

Whether you are a Little Monster or not, you must admit that Lady Gaga represents a kind of genius that does not exist today. She gives more love to her fans than any legend before her. In a matter of two years, almost to the date, Lady Gaga has become just that, a legend. This a status that takes most artists 20 + years to achieve. If you have ever seen Gaga in concert, you understand why she is as successful as she is.

While this was not our first time seeing Lady Gaga in concert, it was by far the best, which is hard to fathom because the previous show we attended blew us away. This time, it was different. She is even more seasoned than before. She is....Gaga. That is the only word that can possibly describe how truly amazing, inspiring, and creative she is. Its in the way she personalized the show. From yelling about churches on 8 mile, to talking about "detroit unicorn sluts", Lady Gaga made us all feel like she is a native detroiter, and she made us feel like we were her friends.

From Just Dance, to Poker Face, to Paparazzi, to Love Game, to the closing of the show with Bad Romance, she gave us every single one of her hits. She also gave us the songs that were not played on the radio, like Beautiful Dirty Rich, Monster, Teeth, and the "gay anthem" Boys Boys Boys. Every moment she had the entire arena on their feet. And, when it was time to slow it down a little, she took everyones breath away. She first hit us with the haunting tune Speechless, which she dedicated to a fan she had met earlier in the day, and then gave us a song from her upcoming album called You and I, which is officially my favorite Gaga song.

Not only was the show jam packed with her amazing music, but we got to see a show like you would not even believe. From performing Love Game mostly inside of a subway car, to playing the electric keyboard for Just Dance inside of a car. During Monster she was "attacked" by her dancers, disappeared, and then got shot out 10 feet into the air from underneath the stage, hit the ground IN HEELS, and got right back into the choreography.

I have seen a lot of shows, but this one takes the cake for being the most amazing. Even after attending the Home to Home tour in Detroit the night before (a show that stars Jay Z and Eminem, but boasts an abundant of celebrity guests), I still have to say Gaga's show was the best. She is a fierce, badass, free bitch, and we both love her.

Johnny Depp as...

We’ve seen Johnny Depp as a drunken pirate and a notorious gangster. We have also seen him as a whimsical guy who makes candy for a living, a loving brother and son and even a studly bad boy; but we have never seen him as… a chameleon?

Directed by Gore Verbinski, Johnny Depp lends his voice to the animated feature, “Rango”.

Written by James Ward Byrkit, Rango is a chameleon aspiring to be a hero who ends up finding himself in a Western town filled with bandits. As he continues his journey through the crime-filled town, he is forced to become what he set out to be - a hero, in order to protect it.

“Rango” is said to still be in production but the release date is set for March 4, 2011! Watch the trailer below.

Salvatore Ferragamo

After looking through photos of several pieces from Men’s Spring 2011 collections showcased at Milan Fashion Week, I have decided Salvatore Ferragamo’s line is my absolute fave!

With lots of straight lines, bold and earthy colors and fabrics with a dash of shine, this collection knocks all the others out of the water. Ferragamo’s take on Ready-to-wear(RTW) fashion is practical and pleasing for REAL men.

The Cut Blog interviewed New Yorkers and their take one of the looks from the collection and one Soho resident stated, "Very cool. This is very thirties. Very Esquire-ish, Palm Beach. Very silky and elegant. I like the pants and the color and the glasses and that kind of tie. I’d wear it in Miami or to a club or a party."

I would have to agree! View some of the styles below from the fab collection.
