My recent spring break adventuring in Las Vegas would have obviously not been complete without a little shopping excursion here and there. While roaming around the strip I had the privilege of stopping in the Alexander McQueen store. This mans genius will be very sadly missed. However, this isn't meant to be a post of mourning, its meant to be a post to celebrate his best ideas.
Roaming around the store, I felt just overwhelmed by how amazing his designs were. I mean, you do not get the full understanding of his work until you are in this store. I took more notice to his jackets (or suit coats if you would like to call them that) than anything else. Now, obviously I know many of you (myself and Jessica included) would not be able to simply walk into this store and purchase one of these multi-thousand dollar jackets, but I hope you will see this and use it as a tool. So ladies, fellas….if you are going to do a jacket, do a jacket!
There are two main keys to pulling any jacket off. Key number 1: a jacket must be well tailored. This means no ordering jackets off the internet. Key number 2: detailing! Alexander McQueen is an amazing designer because of how much detail he puts into his clothing.
Pulling off a jacket is literally as easy as following those two steps. And, remember, you do not have to spend thousands of dollars to do this. Stores like express, urban outfitters, and macy's all carry affordable looks. Sometimes a piece might need a little tailoring, which usually isn't too expensive, and don't forget this will most likely be something that stays in your wardrobe for a very long time.
If you are looking for more inspiration on some amazing looks I would highly recommend checking out Alexander McQueen's website, and obviously keep checking back here at JuMo for more fashion forward ideas.
