Salvatore Ferragamo

After looking through photos of several pieces from Men’s Spring 2011 collections showcased at Milan Fashion Week, I have decided Salvatore Ferragamo’s line is my absolute fave!

With lots of straight lines, bold and earthy colors and fabrics with a dash of shine, this collection knocks all the others out of the water. Ferragamo’s take on Ready-to-wear(RTW) fashion is practical and pleasing for REAL men.

The Cut Blog interviewed New Yorkers and their take one of the looks from the collection and one Soho resident stated, "Very cool. This is very thirties. Very Esquire-ish, Palm Beach. Very silky and elegant. I like the pants and the color and the glasses and that kind of tie. I’d wear it in Miami or to a club or a party."

I would have to agree! View some of the styles below from the fab collection.

Movie fail on deck

Many of us saw the catastrophe that was “Honey”, staring Jessica Alba. Well, there is going to be a round two of that hot mess. This time with “The Vampire Diaries” actress, Katerina Graham.

Much like the plot of the first film, “Honey 2” focuses on juvenile delinquents who find an outlet in dance. Sounds like every other dance movie ever made. *yawn*

"Honey 2" is slated to be released October, 2011. But get this. It’s going straight to DVD. Hmm…I wonder why!?

Will you pick up a copy of “Honey 2” or dance your way to another movie?

I LIKE IT!

Enrique Iglesias, Latin’s heartthrob himself, is back and ready to blast the stereos of his fans!

I don’t know about you guys, but I think Enrique is a fine, fine specimen of a man. Not only that, he has some vocal cords on him too. I thought I would share with you guys all my excitement for the release of his new album entitled, “Euphoria”.

“Euphoria” includes both Spanish and American tracks. As a result, it will be released internationally. The international version of the CD hits stores July 5 and America will get to enjoy his talent July 6. Until then, take a peek at his video with fellow Latin singer, Pitbull entitled, “I Like It”, with a special appearance by everyone’s favorite Guidos and Guidettes, the cast of ‘Jersey Shore”!

Like mother, like daughter

Mother of Oscar-nominated “Precious” star, Gabourey Sidibe, Alice Tan Ridley wowed the judges last night with her stunning performance of “At Last” by Etta James on “America’s Got Talent”.

After Ridley’s classy performance with a hint of attitude, judge Sharon Osbourne asked, “Alice, millions of people must have gone back and forth on that subway over the 20 years, how come nobody signed you?” Ridley noted that she has been singing in subway stations for 20 years but is ready to pursue her dream of becoming a singer in bigger ways now.

Well Alice, I’m rooting for you! Watch her amazing performance below.

Frugal fashions for your father

As Mother’s Day has passed, it is now time to celebrate the other half that made your life possible – your dad. This year, forget about power tools and beer; go with something practical; something fashionable!

Ties:

*Express Silk Paisley Tie $40
You can never go wrong with a tie. Every guy needs at least one tie in his life. This year, give your dad the hottest neck accessory he has ever had! Ties range in price but as we continue to trek through this rescission, you can shop JCPenny, Urban Outfitters (for skinny ties) and Express for low to moderately priced, good-looking ties.

Shoes:

*Sperry Men's Authentic Canvas Boat Shoe $70
A lot of dads are not hip to what’s cool these days. Why not give your dad the little fashion push that he needs and hook him up with some fly footwear? As the summer is upon us, gift your dad with some boat shoes or canvas shoes. Guys with an eye for fashion know that these particular shoes are very in for the season, so your dad will appreciate you helping him look like the cool kids. Sperrys are a great brand for boat shoes. And get this! Urban Outfitters is running a promotion for canvas shoes – 2 for $30! Buy your dad a pair and save one for yourself!

Watch:

*Fossil Chronograph Black Dial Watch $115
Now-a-days, people just look at their phones to find out the time, but having a watch can bring class to any ensemble. For your father, surprise him with a great time piece. Although watches can get pricy, there are some places that offer some affordable options. Take Fossil for example; and even Macy’s has some choices at decent prices.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

We all have that one item that we love to wear! It fits us just right and the compliments come pouring in when we put it on. The only downfall is that we hate to wear it over and over. Well, I am here to tell you that recycling clothes is ok!

Whether your fave item be a dress, jeans or a shirt, there are several ways to wear the item multiple times without looking like you only own one thing.

Take a dress for example. By pairing it with different shoes and accessories each time you wear it, you can switch up the look. If it is a shorter dress try matching it with jeans to give a dressed down look. Since the summer is here, flats or sandals can work as footwear to compliment the dress and make it look different each time.

Do you have a t-shirt that makes your upper body look amazing? You are too hot too trot when you step out into the world every time you put it on. Don’t worry; you can use different colored camis as layering pieces. Or, Rock the shirt with a colorful scarf for a Bohemian look one day and with a cropped denim jacket for en edgy look the next day.

For girls, think about how a handbag can easily switch up a look. For guys, topping your ensemble off with a hat can make your favorite hoodie look different each time.

Think outside the box the next time you want to wear your signature piece. You will look fab, trust!

A British Mess

So basically Britain's Got Talent warrants a post today!
As you all may know Scottish sensation, Susan Boyle, got her big break on the British television show "Britain's Got Talent". The 49-year-old singer has recently been in the news as singers such as Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, 50 Cent and Alice Cooper have mentioned how awesome it would be to collaborate with the show's runner-up. But now another performer has come out and said he wouldn't mind working with Boyle. Guess who!? The one and only Plies! The man who is known for rapping about "Becky" would like to team up with sweet old Susan.
"A lot of people look at this as a far-fetched feature or collaboration. From a business standpoint, I watched what she was able to do and create through her own story and it always interested me," Plies told UsMagazine.com I really would like for her to take him up on that offer because I am beyond curious as to what that track would sound like!

In other Britain's Got Talent news, a good girl has gone bad. Very bad! Miley Cyrus was the featured performer on last night's episode and she got down and dirty as she sang the first single to her new album, "Can't be Tamed". The 17-year-old pop star did the unimaginable as she simulated a lesbian kiss. *GASP* Miley is really going down the Britney path now. Watch below as Miley rocks it out!
