Ricky Likes Dicky

Not that I am necessarily surprised, but Ricky Martin has come out of the closet. Yes ladies, he has officially crossed over into the dark side. Is it a win for the gay community? Well, I guess so. Its always great to have more celebrities come out, because it hopefully will do a little to break down those prejudices that exist for gays.

I do wanna give a little shout out to him and say thank you for not coming out on the cover of a magazine like a couple other people I can think of! (It worked for Lance, but Clay, you were a joke!) Rock on Ricky!

men's accessories

Alright men, its time for a lesson in accessories. We, as the male species, are very limited on what we can wear in terms of accessories. As fashion continues to blossom and develop, more and more items are becoming appropriate and fashion forward for men. Now that spring is finally dawning on us, it should be a time of challenging yourself and your wardrobe by maybe trying something you haven't before.

My pick for this seasons mens accessory is the long necklace. Let me guess, the words "old lady" are flashing in your head? Yeah, thats how I felt at first, until I went to an armani exchange store in Las Vegas and saw the necklace choices there (please see below for what I am talking about). Obviously you will probably be able to head to a store that is a little cheaper to find this accessory, but the one featured in the picture below is just about $32.

Now, for the how to wear it section. Since denim is in this season, I would like to recommend pairing it with a denim button down. However, if your like me and not really feeling the denim on denim looks just yet, the way I will be wearing mine will be with a v-neck t-shirt. The necklace itself should fall between your pecks (or man boobs in some case) and just above your belly button. Anything below your belly button is just too much, but anything above the chest would just be a regular and boring necklace. Really, this is a simple accessory, but one not very men will be willing to try, most likely due to the femininity surrounding necklaces. But as I said its spring, and a time for new beginnings and a time for fashion.

Lady Gaga's Birthday Plans

Lady Gaga will be turning the big 2-4 in just a few days and she reviled her big birthday plans to an Australian radio show. On March 28, Lady gaga hopes to "find the nearest bar that smells like urine and get very drunk!" This completely sounds like a great time! LOL

Among other things discussed in the interview, Gaga said that the core of her third album is pretty much complete and it is some of her best work! Us little monsters can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve.

Lady Gaga also worked with Nick Night in order to create a giant statue of herself with an actual working piano descending from her stomach. Can you say AWESOME!?

Check out Lady Gaga's new avitar to see what some friends gave her as an early birthday present.

Freshman Clothing

After having attended “Funk in the Trunk”, a street couture fashion show that took place at the 5eGallery in Detroit on Tuesday, I realized that I am obsessed with the Freshman Clothing line!

This line is full of fun crew neck sweatshirts and trendy plaids. While wearing these Detroit-inspired fashions, you will be at the head of your class!

I was truly impressed by this line when I saw a model wearing a black crew sweatshirt with a giant digital looking heart step out onto the runway. All I thought was, “I gotta have it!”

If you enjoy bright colors and up-to-date looks that take a retro spin, then you should consider getting something from the Freshman Clothing Line. And don’t worry; the line is not just for us gals. Guys can get in on the action too. That’s another great feature of Freshman Clothing. It allows hot style choices for both guys and girls.

You can visit the web site or even go check out the store at 204 Grand River

BONNAROO!

Music lovers, its that time again! For those of you who don't know, Bonnaroo is one of the nations largest music festivals and is held in Manchester, Tennessee. This year, the dates are June 10th thru the 13th, and the lineup is bigger and more exciting than ever!

Some of the big names that will be there are Dave Matthews Band, Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Conan O'Brian, Tenacious D, Weezer, The Flaming Lips, Pheonix, Norah Jones, Michael Franti, Regina Spektor, Ween, Zac Brown Band, Kid Cudi, The Melvins, Chromeo, and so many more I don't even have time to mention.

The beauty of Bonnaroo is you can either rent a campsite on location, or stay at a hotel in town. Obviously, it would be impossible to go see every artist that will be there, but it is very easy to see the big names because they should be taking turns on the main stages. Tickets are on sale now, and all the details you could ever need are at Bonnaroo's website! So, check it out, and let us know if you are planning on attending!

If you're going to wear a jacket...

My recent spring break adventuring in Las Vegas would have obviously not been complete without a little shopping excursion here and there. While roaming around the strip I had the privilege of stopping in the Alexander McQueen store. This mans genius will be very sadly missed. However, this isn't meant to be a post of mourning, its meant to be a post to celebrate his best ideas.

Roaming around the store, I felt just overwhelmed by how amazing his designs were. I mean, you do not get the full understanding of his work until you are in this store. I took more notice to his jackets (or suit coats if you would like to call them that) than anything else. Now, obviously I know many of you (myself and Jessica included) would not be able to simply walk into this store and purchase one of these multi-thousand dollar jackets, but I hope you will see this and use it as a tool. So ladies, fellas….if you are going to do a jacket, do a jacket!

There are two main keys to pulling any jacket off. Key number 1: a jacket must be well tailored. This means no ordering jackets off the internet. Key number 2: detailing! Alexander McQueen is an amazing designer because of how much detail he puts into his clothing.

Pulling off a jacket is literally as easy as following those two steps. And, remember, you do not have to spend thousands of dollars to do this. Stores like express, urban outfitters, and macy's all carry affordable looks. Sometimes a piece might need a little tailoring, which usually isn't too expensive, and don't forget this will most likely be something that stays in your wardrobe for a very long time.

If you are looking for more inspiration on some amazing looks I would highly recommend checking out Alexander McQueen's website, and obviously keep checking back here at JuMo for more fashion forward ideas.

Dunzo!

When celebrity couples split, I usually could give two cares less, but I was secretly rooting for this couple.

It’s official that Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush have hit splitzville! They were a power celeb duo as Kim has been working on her clothing line with Bebe and Reggie has been celebrating his Super Bowl win. But according to sources, Kim’s schedule was too hectic and Reggie wasn’t too fond of the spotlight.

Well guys, we wish you all the best in your future endeavors and relationships!

I'm on a boat, B*tch!

Boys, boys, boys! Let me tell you a little secret. Boat shoes are that deal. If there is one purchase you NEED to make this summer, this is it.

Boat shoes give a clean and classic look that match almost any occasion. Pair them with cargo shorts or linen pants to complete your perfect, sexy summer style.

This post my be a tad but bias because I’m a sucker for a guy wearing boat shoes, but take this as a lesson for getting the ladies. We love boat shoes on men!!

Take a look at this Macy’s link for some great shoe ideas at pretty affordable prices.

#nowplaying

I am not a fan of Katy Perry in any way, shape, or form. And now that she is engaged to Russell Brand I lost that much more respect for her. However, for this weeks #nowplaying, I had to pick this new song by her and Timbaland, because I cannot get it out of my head! The song is called "If We Ever Meet Again", and its crazy catchy, and will probably climb quickly up the charts and top 40 radio play. Give it a listen, and feel free to let me know what you think! Also, let us know what you want to hear featured each week for #nowplaying!

Lady Gaga being sued?!

Yes friends, its true! According to billboard.com her ex-boyfriend and former producer/co-songwriter, Rob Fusari, is suing the pop goddess for $30.5 million. According to Fusari, he was never paid the loyalties he deserved, claiming he helped coin her name, helped get her the record deal that launched her into stardom, and that he helped write "Paparazzi" and "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich". He does say that he received $611,000, but that is not his full cut. So far, no comments from Lady Gaga or her management have been given, but I am excited to hear what she is going to say! To me, this sounds like an angry ex-boyfriend who is pissed he still isn't with her, but I guess we will see. All I have to say is, Gaga, your fans are behind you 100%! Love you forever! And readers, we will be sure to keep you posted as the story unfolds!

LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS

I am not sure who told women it was okay to wear leggings as pants, but we seriously have an epidemic on our hands. Yesterday I had to have seen at least 200 girls walking around wearing their leggings as pants. I probably saw 20 girls properly wearing leggings. If you do not know how to properly wear leggings, then please continue to read.

When deciding to wear leggings with your outfit there are two important things to consider. 1) what color leggings am I going to wear (I must say I do not think a situation will EVER call for one to wear white leggings...they do not do ANYTHING for ANYONE!) and 2) What top am I going to wear. I must spend a little more time talking about this second issue.

Okay, the single most important thing to consider when wearing leggings is making sure whatever top you are wearing COVERS YOUR BUTT! Having a long shirt or some sort of dress is completely appropriate for leggings. In no circumstance do you want your butt to be out and about in your leggings. You could have the best butt on the planet, but leggings will grab onto it, and show everyone every nook and cranny you got there; hence leggings not being appropriate pants.

Seriously girls, you strive to have the perfect butt and the perfect boobs (boobs are a completely different issue however), and leggings are not helping you with the matter. It should be illegal. If you fail to see what I am talking about, put a pair on and look in the mirror. They are not flattering. So, next time you reach for your leggings, pair them with a long shirt or short dress that covers your butt and a pair of pumps (NO UGG BOOTS AND NO FLATS!). Together, we can put an end to this crisis!

Boots and Booties

With all the recent sunshine and beautiful weather, it is almost time to break out the spring and summer wardrobe! So when you are thinking about your next outfit choice, keep in mind that boots are a trendy look for the season. Even Instyle.com says so!

We saw lots of boots in the fall. Anywhere from over-the-knee to short booties; they were a hot ticket item. As we transition into a new season, the same looks still apply. But if you want to switch it up, and put a little fieriness in your step, then lose the pants and jeans and pair your boots with dresses skirts and shorts!

I am not talking about that tired UGGs with a denim skirt look, I am talking about a good pair of cowboy boots with a floral print dress or black motorcycle boots with high-waisted shorts. Keep in mind that anything with laces or the open toe look gets two thumbs up!

If you are searching for great looks at affordable prices then try out DSW. They offer chic designer shoes for fashinoistas on a budget. And don’t forget, if you follow them on twitter, every Friday they offer a chance to win a free pair of shoes! Maybe you could win some classics to strut in this summer!

#pleaserestgaga

We have been gone for a minute, but we are back!
I have had a busy week and an even busier weekend. I would also like to inform you all that Justin has also made it safely back from Vegas and already wants to return! lol

Anyhoo..I would like to take this time to send prayers and good wishes to Lady Gaga and all of her fans at the her recent concert in New Zeland. She as well as many as 100 fans passed out as a result of dehydration. According to @gagadaily, the arena was too hot. However, Gaga’s manager reported the pop star is doing fine!

Below is a fan’s video showing her “Bad Romance” performance from the concert. It is very apparent that she was feeling ill. Fans managed to keep a trending topic on twitter reading #pleaserestgaga, in hopes of showing support!

#nowplaying

I have a list of about 15-20 of my fave songs ever, and "Gimmie Sympathy" is one of them! This light rock song by Metric kinda makes you want to tap your foot and bob your head back and forth. The lyrics are exciting and ever-so true. The video is simple but fun at the same time. So take a listen and tell me, "Who'd you rather be - the Beatles or the Rolling Stones?"

Lady Gaga + Rock Band = Epic!

Little Monsters and gamers, get ready because Gaga is coming to Rock Band!!!
The idea of Gaga becoming an addition to Rock Band sounded epic when fans and supporters saw the “South Park” episode featuring Cartman’s rendition of “Poker Face”.

So next week, you too can rock out like the “South Park” kids to Lady Gaga. Rock Band will sell a pack including “Bad Romance”, “Just Dance”, “Poker Face” and “Monster”!! The pack will be sold for $6.99, or you can buy the songs individually for $2.00.

'The Money Shot'

Star of the award-winning movie, “Precious”, Gabourey Sidibe was truly precious at the Oscars last night. She was working her Marchesa dress! She even told Ryan Seacrest, “If fashion was porn, this would be the money shot!”
But did anyone notice her ensemble resembled her co-star, Mariah Carey? Personally, I think Gabby was rocking her gown harder and better than Mrs. Cannon in her Valentino.

Nicole Lee

I recently bought a new handbag that I am in love with! It is a Nicole Lee bag purchased from The Buckle. I pretty much never go into that store, but this bag caught my eye!

Nicole Lee, created by designer Suzy Han, is full of chic edginess. The Spring/Summer 2010 collection offers lots of studs and sequence. Some of Han’s work reminds me of Betsey Johnson. Maybe that’s why I am so attracted to Nicole Lee.
I was surfing the website and came across this handbag.

How adorable! It’s creative, fun and obviously chic. Take a look at what else Nicole Lee has to offer.

"Alice in Wonderland" #FTW!!

First of all, I would like to say that “Alice in Wonderland” is some of Tim Burton’s best work. He is a favorite of mine and I give him the up-most respect for his brilliance and creativity!
The new Alice in Wonderland hits theaters today and I had the pleasure of seeing the midnight showing of the film. I was captivated by the cinematography, the acting, the wardrobe…everything!
“Alice in Wonderland” stars Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. Personally, I think Helena Bonham Carter stole the show. I may be a little bit bias because she is one of my favorite actresses, but her role was beyond creative and she portrayed it well. Her character came off as both serious and comedic, and she did a great job of balancing the two. She even got her own separate camera to create the illusion of an over-sized head. How cool!?

This movie is a whimsical tale of a popular kids’ story and Tim Burton and Disney portrayed it perfectly for the new age.
Other than the above-mentioned reasons for this movie’s greatness, the fact that it is being shown in 3D is all the more reason to love it. I have seen some movies in 3D and left the theater thinking what happened to the 3 in the D? But that is not at all the case with this movie! Things really come out at you and you get the 3D feel throughout the entire movie.

I fully encourage everyone to see “Alice in Wonderland”!!!!
**And remember, the craziest people are the best people! (Once you see the film, you will understand) (:

American Idol #FAIL

Ummm....yeah. I have given up pretty much all hope in the show, especially if Crystal Bowersox does not return due to her illness. Last night was a mess. I think out of the ten guys there were seven that were terrible, two that were okay (the last guy, and the mullet kid), and one person that was pretty good (Michael Lynch, basically the shows Jesus right now!).

As I sit and watch the disgrace happen, I have to wonder if the producers realize the show is a joke this year and that literally EVERYONE is talking about how there is no talent. And as for the judges given more positive comments last night, I honestly feel that the producers most likely told them to not be so harsh, and to try to be constructive. People, this is the worst top 24 we have seen so far, and with the show being in its ninth year shouldn't it be more amazing than ever? I would hope so!

Either these people need to chose better songs, get over their nerves, or get out of the game. I guess if they did that we would be left with like 3 people. I will be missing the first hour of tonights show due to the fact I sadly have a job, but will be able to catch that second hour. Hopefully the girls will outshine the guys, because if something doesn't happen soon and fast, I am done with the show!

Best Dressed

So folks, we have New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week under our belts, so its time to seriously discuss the hottest looks for the season. I have been talking alot about what guys should wear, just because I am a guy, and there isnt that much out there to help guys out. Today, however, I stumbled across this look for ladies that I felt I needed to share.

I have never really been one to pay too much attention to Michael Kors for some reason. Oh sure, I watch him on Project Runway every week, but as a designer, I never really felt like I got him. However, this season that is changing! (Please see picture below, courtesy of michaelkors.com)

In the words of another designer I dont care for, "FIERCE" (If you don't know who I'm talking about, consider yourself lucky!). I am becoming a sucker for zippers on the shoulder, and this dress shows exactly why. The clean lines, the pale blue...it all just works so well! Pair it with a pair of silver shoes (please ladies, no flats!), a small handbag, and some simple earrings and you have yourself a killer outfit! Obviously, because its Michael Kors, this dress will run you about $1,400. I bet you will get that much in free drinks when you wear this out to the bar though!

"This Too Shall Pass"

Usher #fail

Today via Global Grind, I listened to two new tracks by Usher,. I have never been a huge fan, but I decided to give him a shot today. But these two songs just confirmed that he needs to go somewhere and sit down…like yesterday!
The first song called “Somebody to Love” has a very pop type feel unlike his usual baby making jams. After about 50 seconds of crap, I though, he should have just passed this track along to Jay Sean who is allowed to sing over-produced pop music.
The second song called “Lingerie” was just trash! First of all, you are NOT Pretty Ricky! Please do not title songs lingerie or anything of the sort. In short, I don’t know how the entire song plays out because I became very bored and annoyed about 30 seconds in.
Listen HERE and tell us what you think. Are these songs #FTW or a #FAIL?
