Spring/Summer Footwear Choice...

Okay, so my pick for MUST HAVE item of the spring would be old navy flip flops. I know, how lame. But seriously, 2 for $5. You cannot beat that! They come in a wide variety of colors, so you can buy every color to match all of your outfits. And, for those of you who prefer the simpler footwear option, flip flops do not get anymore basic than this. So there you go! It may seem stupid, but old navy flip flops are my weakness, and I love it!

Jean Paul Gaultier for Target

Jean Paul Gaultier, creator of my favorite cologne for men, has joined forces with Target to create a clothing line for women. The line will launch in select stores and on Target.com March 7-April 11. So mark your calendars ladies, because there are some pieces in this collection that are must-haves!
“My collection with Target pays homage to the wide range of personalities that make up the diverse styles of American women,” said Jean Paul Gaultier. “From ingĂ©nue to rock ‘n roll, this collection celebrates women of all ages and a host of distinctive, iconic American styles.”
Most of the pieces are priced between $29.99-$59.99. That may sound a little high for Target, but if you think about it, JPG is a very high-end couture designer charging hundreds, even thousands of dollars for his pieces. But at the oh-so-loved Tarjay, you can get some of his work for under $100.
I am obsessed with the canary yellow Marilyn Monroe-esk dress as well as this motorcycle meets military jacket.

Well, its about that time of the week again! This week, I had to pick the song Droplets by Colbie Caillat and Jason Reeves. These two are two of my favorite singers ever, and I have had the honor of seeing them both in concert. Colbie is obviously at this time is more known that Jason is (having had the hit singles Bubbly and Realize), but Jason is obviously on his way. The song is...haunting. The lyrics are honest, and the performance is insightful as we get a look at a love story unfolding in the most simplistic manner in this music video. The video was recorded some time ago, before either of them were signed to any record label, so I feel that it is probably some of the best and most honest work we will see from these two. I hope this song can mean as much to you as it does to me.

Burberry Collection

Okay, Im really into this collection so I felt the need to share it! Its simple, yet genius. There isn't really too much more to say about it.

WTF?

How did this Q Magazine (popular British mag) cover with Lady Gaga get banned in the United States? She looks AMAZING, and I'm pretty sure I've seen a LOT worse than this on magazine covers here!

dress up for men

Okay guys, a lot of times when we go out for something that you have to dress up for we have no idea what to wear. Too often guys go for the typical khaki or black dress pant with a blue button down and a tie. Whether its for a date with the old lady (and no, I don't mean your mother, but thats cool if thats who you mean) or a job interview for some major corporate job that would pay six figures, my pick for mens "dress up outfit" is the black on black dress outfit. You can do it several ways:

1. black v-neck t-shit, with a half unbuttoned black button down, black dress pants, black belt and black shoes (black socks please to gentlemen! nobody likes seeing white socks peakin' through.)
2. black button down, black suit coat, black dress pants, black belt, and black shoes (the socks rule applies here...and everywhere.)
3. black button down, black tie, black dress pants, black belt, and black shoes.

I personally think Bradley Cooper (from The Hangover) did it best in the movie The Hangover. This outfit is nothing complicated, but its something most men need help with. So please, stop reaching for your typical dress outfit and give something new a try!

American Who??

Are producers sure they want to call the show American Idol? I think it may be time for a title change.
After last nights top 12 ladies sang, I think many of us can come to an agreement that not one lady who performed has the chops to be an “Idol”. From the looks of things, the judges became lazy. After Paula’s departure from the show and Simon announcing it’s his last season, I guess they didn’t feel the need to choose real talent to make it to the top 24.
Despite the high number of painful performances, I will say that Crystal Bowersox and Haeley Vaughn, both of which strummed their guitars last night, performed very well. The two have a unique sound for the show. But like Simon said to Crystal, a million other girls are on the street singing the same way she does. However, for American Idol, their sounds work.
On another note, Ashley Rodriguez who sang Leona Lewis’ “Happy” gave me little hope for her singing career, but as far as style goes, she gets two thumbs up! She wore a glossy cream-colored crew neck motorcycle jacket with fitted skinny jeans, open toe pumps and a gaudy but extra fashionable ring on her index finger. She may not have the best voice, but she has the hottest style on the show.

Tonight the top 12 guys will give it a shot. Hopefully they will bring the heat or my television may say so long to Idol!

Okay, so Kanye loves to interrupt people...we all know this! You still cannot deny that his music is amazing. This week I have not been able to stop listening to his song "See You In My Nightmare", hence it being my pick for song of the week! Song clip (via youtube.com) is located below so if you haven't heard it, please give it a listen! Oh, I guess a little credit needs to go to Weezy (I have never understood why Lil' Wayne also goes by Weezy...I hate that all these people have like 87346720874 names) cuz he does little diddys throughout the whole song.

Did you know..

*Sometimes I find myself listening to both songs often because they are both great!*

Grammy award winner and Twitter dress wearer, Imogen Heap, is kind of the one behind new-comer Jason DeRulo's hit song "Whatchu Say". Just take a listen below. (Fast forward to 2:52 if you would like)

Now here is Jason's take on the verse.

We admire both talents! Both Imogen Heap and Jason DeRulo are creative artists who know how to belt out a fierce tune!

Daily dose of Gaga

So I was surfing GagaDaily.com, Lady Gaga's number one fan site, and I came across two amazing photos! These pics are from her concert in Manchester that kicked off the European leg of her Monster Ball tour.

First of all, Gaga got a donk! Watch out JLo. There's a new sheriff in town! Second, the Gaga a la bettlejuice photo showing her accompanied with a guitar just makes me love her even more! She is such a talented woman. Being able to sing live, dance and play multiple instruments is hard to come be these days, but Lady Gaga is a true talent and fashionista!!!

*Lady Gaga will be releaseing tour dates for the second leg of the Monster Ball tour on March 1st.

Kelly, is that you?

New York Fashion week is a time for not only fashion designers to showcase their work, but also for the paparazzi to have a ball over runway show attendees. One of this year's stars to attend was the daughter of the Prince of Darkness, Kelly Osbourne. Take a look at the photo below. I am absolutely LOVING her new look. Since her almost-win on "Dancing with the Stars" she has shed some pounds, cut her hair, and now has a beautiful glow about her. Not that she wasn't pretty before, but she is just looking extra fab now! Way to go, Kelly! Also pictured is singer/designer/mommy/wife, Gwen Stefani. This power girl is looking good as always as she debuted her second L.A.M.B collection. "Gwen really out did herself i cant say enough good things about L.A.M.B she is one of the most beautiful women i have ever seen in my life," Kelly tweeted, according to InStyle.com.

he is NOT a sensation

Okay, I was just reading yahoo news, and it was an article about former American Idol runner up Adam Lambert. First of all, the article referred to him as being a "sensation", and then went on to talk about his diva-esq attitude he shows to audiences at his shows. Lets get something straight right now (no pun intended). Adam Lambert is NOT a sensation...he is a joke! Second of all, his diva attitude...he needs to probably get over himself right quick, because there is no reason for him to be a snob, or for him to think everyone wants him. Letting people grab his crotch during his shows, telling people about how everyone wants him, and stopping his show to yell at an audience member that was on her phone...no Adam, you are not a diva, so therefore you need to get over yourself and realize that your ten fans are going hate you soon if you don't drop the cocky "everyone wants me and you better show me you want me too" attitude now. Please, I ask you the reader of this, join me in an anti-Adam Lambert movement...for the sake of music...he needs to be stopped! (ps. here is a video of him stopping his show to yell at a fan.)

We love you, Betty!

Best known for her role as the ditsy but lovable air head in “Golden Girls”, Betty White is taking over the world!

We have seen her in other productions like “Lake Placid”, the terrible movie about the killer alligator and “The Proposal”, a recent comedy starring the beautiful Sandra Bullock. But it seems as if her popularity skyrocketed when her Snikers Super Bowl commercial aired.

Everyone loves them some Betty White, including us! She is talented, funny and still pretty hot to be 88. Betty’s fans are showing their love by joining a Facebook group petitioning to get SNL to bring her on as a host. Personally, I don’t watch the show much anymore, but if my hommie Betty White were to host, I would be all over it!

Unfortunately, the lovely Ms. White feels as though this sudden craze is all a phase. She told PEOPLE.com, "It will go away, I promise...”

Oh, Betty! Even if this all goes away, we are still gonna love you!

Spring Must-Haves

Most of us are still trotting around in Ugg boots with matching hats and scarves, but when we hit the malls, we are graced with t-shirts, light colored jeans and peep toe shoes. That only means one thing. Spring collections are here!
Below are a list of looks for you guys and gals to experiment with this spring.

Dear Ladies,
Rompers will be ALL the rage for the coming spring and summer seasons. Remember when you were kids and your mom used to put you in a one piece and show you off? Well you get to go back down memory lane with a twist. Take a romper and pair it with heels for a night out with the girls, or dress it down with booties or sandals for a cute lunch date look.

As for designs and patterns, you can be that "it" girl if you rock out in florals and stripes. The floral patterns will give a nice dainty look for any of you girly girls. Meanwhile, stripes offer an edgy look.

Yo dudes,
Next time you head out be sure to grab a pair of khakis, a blazer and anything denim! These are the essential pieces for spring and summer 2010.

Blazers are usually worn in a corporate office setting, but not this spring! These pieces are created to match a dressed down look. Military inspired blazers paired with perfectly fitted jeans will be a hot ticket look!

Denim on denim was such an 80s look, but you know they say history repeats itself. So take this history lesson into consideration and try out something denim this season. Denim button down shirts will be a sexy look for guys.
Don't want to sport all denim? No problem. Straight leg khakis with a denim shirt offer a nice put together look for all you males out there.

well, each week we are going to attempt to do a "song of the week" type of posting. I (justin), will try to bring you some songs you have probably heard, and some that you probably havent heard, and try to post a little video to go along with it!

This week, in honor of valentines day, I want to share one of my favorite songs of all time! Its called "A Drop In The Ocean" by Ron Pope. The song is amazing, and I dont think I have too much to say about it, because you should just listen to it! Oh, and on a side note, in my American Sign Language class I signed this song for my final exam, so maybe one day I will post a little video of that!

Happy Valentines Day!

we are wishing everyone a day full of love, baby making, and overall romance! and, to the single ones, I have two words for you...BOOTY CALL! Peace and Love!

Naturally, baby

Yes, I am 22 but I still very much enjoy the Disney Channel and am not affraid to admit that. LOL...Anyway, a product of the teen sensation movement the network has created is Selena Gomez, star of "Wizards of Waverly Place". Aside from acting, this Texas-raised teen is dabbaling with music. Her latest video entitled "Naturally" has a slot on my favortie songs list right now. Take a listen, maybe this pop/rock, feel good song will make to your list too.

I dont want to replay..

I need to vent for a second. I was driving to the bank this morning to withdraw all of my money to pay my rent (YUCK!), and that damn song "Replay" by Iyaz came on the radio. Can we please examine this song for a second? "Shawty's like a melody in my head, that I can't keep out, got me singin' like, nah nah nah nah everyday, it's like my ipod's stuck on replay". UGH! WHO WROTE THIS SONG?! Was it Miley? It had to have been, because it sounds like a ten year old wrote it! How is this song on billboards top ten still? It has to be some cruel joke to the music world! Im sorry if you for some reason find this song appealing, but if I hear it one more time, I might jump in front of a large moving vehicle.

We say goodbye....

If you are like the both of us, you were sad to hear that Alexander McQueen was found dead today. Tragically, the 40 year old fashion designer and icon was found dead after an apparent suicide. His designs were visionary, and he designed for celebrities like Lady Gaga. McQueen was due to have a show today at 3:00pm, and was set to be one of the main events for London's fashion week next week. McQueen will be sadly and tearfully missed. Rest in peace Alexander.

You thought wrong, sucka!

If you needed any more proof that the rumors about Lady Gaga being a tranny are FALSE, here you go! This photo, compliments of @bryanboy via twitter, shows that Gaga bears nothing but girly parts! Take a nice hard look at this pic from the 2010 Grammy Awards last night. WORK IT, GIRL!
